“Quando vejo o sol entrar por uma janela do meu apartamento, alinho-me frequentemente com os seus raios e danço com a sombra que projeta na parede, com este outro eu, imaterial e efémero. Por vezes, coloco uma câmara algures entre o meu corpo e a sua projecção para a registar antes que a imagem desapareça, à medida que o sol continua a sua trajetória.

O reflexo também exerce sobre mim um forte fascínio. A imagem que vejo no espelho torna-se rapidamente mais presente do que aquela que nele é efectivamente refletida. A imagem de mim própria é sempre um outro, e procuro uma relação com esse outro.”

On June 9th at 6pm, Kubikulo opens Lara Dâmaso’s intervention ‘Through the Looking Glass (Bare, Burned, Multiplied)’.

“When I see the sun entering through a window of my apartment, I often align with its rays and initiate a dance with the shadow it projects on the wall, with this other, immaterial and fleeting me. Sometimes I place a camera somewhere between my body and its projection to record it before the image fades away as the sun continues its trajectory. Reflection, too, has a strong effect on me. The image I see in the mirror quickly becomes more present than the actual one that is reflected on it. The image of myself is always an other, and I look for a relation with this other.”
