A Thousand Touches | Exhibition opening
A new season of Aea Space by Aea: Culture Initiative at TIMS café & padaria opens with the exhibition A Thousand Touches: Stories of Migration, Belonging and Connection from the Aea Community.
20 Out a 16 Fev 2027
Grounded in the personal stories and artistic practices of three Lisbon-based members of the Aea Community — chef and caterer Ana Borba, multidisciplinary artist Evy Jokhova, and textile artist Lisa Smirnova — the exhibition highlights the modest, repeated gestures — from shared meals to thousands of stitches — that transform an unfamiliar environment into a shared space of mutual recognition.
Through ordinary acts of making, caring, and connecting, these small gestures repeat and accumulate into relationships, memory, and the fabric of life.
On view 20 October ‘26 - 16 February ‘27
Free admission.
Aea: Culture Initiative — a creative laboratory exploring a female approach to collective making.
Aea Space — a new cultural platform at TIMS café & padaria inside a museum in Lisbon. It serves as the first physical home of Aea: Culture Initiative and operates as an open city-facing environment for exchange, exhibitions, research, and shared inquiries on modes of communication, collectivity, and embodied knowledge.
Aea Space Program unfolds across two seasons each year, where each season begins with a group exhibition that acts as an anchor—a shared point of departure for a wider series of public events.
