This paper explores the challenges facing peacebuilding in Mozambique in the post-conflict. Both in economic terms (with the programme imposed by the IMF and World Bank) and in social terms: a weak civil society in a fragile democratic system. There is a debate about continued support and the role of the international community in an attempt to develop assistance that pursues broader and more stable objectives.
