The integration of the NEPAD Secretariat into the African Union Commission could make it possible to create a common strategic framework to respond to political and development issues – thus demonstrating developments at various levels in Africa on regional integration issues. In the framework of the Euro-African dialogue, the European Commission has been discussing how it can support this process. The main challenges of this dialogue will be the issues of governance, mutual accountability and civil society involvement.
