Ordem Internacional e Multilateralismo
The evolving relationship between Europe and the United States , por Alfred van Staden
The transatlantic relationship between Europe and the US is based primarily on the cooperative effort in three dimensions: security, trade and finance. In the first, the use of European soft power is differentiated from American hard power. For international trade, it is imperative that both parties make agreements with the most protectionist countries in order to avoid unnecessary customs barriers. And finally, the mutual interest compels the US and the EU to control the exchange rate to prevent monetary turbulence in the international financial system
