The road to peace, por IEEI
Mozambique became increasingly dependent on international assistance after the difficulties created by the Renamo attacks and the lack of USSR assistance to Frelimo after its collapse. This paper addresses the road to peace negotiations, helped by Mozambican religious groups, in which they were not always successful. International pressure, war fatigue and lack of resources eventually caused Rename to accept the peace talks that resulted in the General Peace Agreement of 4 October 1992.
