Civil Society intervention in Ituri, DRC: Lessons from the Field, por John Katunga Murhula
“Intangible” factors in violent conflicts (such as, according to the author, identity issues, perceptions, self-esteem, informal processes of social reconstruction, deterioration of interpersonal and intergroup relations at the local level, etc.) tend to be left out of international interventions for conflict resolution. This paper deals with civil society action in Bunia, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, where attempts have been made to integrate these issues into EU and UN interventions.
