This paper reviews the reforms instituted by the General Peace Agreement for Mozambique between the Government and Renamo. There is extensive talk about the interventions and challenges of ONUMOZ in the political and military sphere of the country and how the war ended without a real winner. UN peacekeeping missions go far beyond ceasefire and elections and address the type of humanitarian aid provided on the ground (UNOHAC) as well as the electoral process following the end of the conflict.
